Stories at the Moth (Our Inspiration)
A New York based monthly Storytelling event. Beyond a mere theatrical performance, "Stories at the Moth," is a community experience where enlightenment, entertainment and festivity merge.
Founded in August of 2001, "Tasty Words™" is a storytelling happening for grown ups that celebrates the hilarious and horrifying real deal moments of our lives through the power of the spoken word.
It's part This American Life, part stand-up comedy. It's where some of L.A.'s best writers and comedians come and share their true stories while our DJ spins a real-time soundtrack - like an organ player in a silent movie theater, but less Olde-Tyme. Also, there's free beer and wine.
Some stories are read off the page. Some are told in monologue form. Some are told some other way. But by the end of the night, you've have heard four funny, original stories as well as a cover version of some enjoyable song.
